I have been extremely busy as usual and have an entirely new collection of work on show at The WATERMILL Gallery in Aberfeldy, Perthshire. I would like to invite you to attend:
Lotte Glob - Fragments The WATERMILL, Aberfeldy, Perthshire
"Lottes choice of the title Fragments reflects her new sculptures, impressive vertical pieces made up of carefully crafted fragmentsof fired clay, glazed and textured in Globs distinctive style, secured on raw steel. In her handling of clay drawn from the Earth, Globs work seems to take us back through geological epochs to a time when our planet was being shaped and moulded by forces so vast that it is difficult to fathom them. These forms, suggesting fragments of earlier times, evoke a sense of wonder and stir a desire to touch, to make connection with the past. Alongside these sculptural forms, the exhibition features large plates and bowls, ranging from a delicate porcelain to robust stoneware. The blue and jade glazes, so admired in Globs recent work, are redolent of swirling oceans, drawing the eye and mind in to meditative depths. The reds and yellows, seen in some new pieces in this exhibition, are colours that have re-emerged from Globs earlier work, suggesting the sulphur and magma of volcanic eruptions and transformations."

New Book: Floating Stones A new publication from Watermill Books available through the WATERMILL BOOKSHOP
Over a six year period, ceramic artist Lotte Glob journeyed from her workshop near Cape Wrath to 111 lochans around the Scottish Highlands, launching three ceramic stones into each lochan. Each visit was photographed and a journal kept. Some walks were in the height of summer. At other times Lotte was battered by autumn gales or confronted by winters icy mantle. At one point she was dive-bombed by skuas. All the time she is accompanied by the sounds and sights of the Highlands. Floating Stones selects 33 of the lochan visits. Each is recorded in this beautifully produced, large cloth-bound art book with evocative photographs, journal entries and sketches.
